Disappointing Experience - Beware! I was really excited to write an awesome review about a new tattoo, but unfortunately, I never even got the chance to meet Tom. A little backstory: My mom generously bought $250 tattoo certificates for me, my sister, herself, and $100 for my best friend. That’s $850 worth of tattoos! We had been planning a trip for all of us to get tattooed together. We booked our weekend for October 4-7, and my mom communicated with Tom. He assured her he had open availability all weekend, and it would be the perfect time for our session. Here’s the thing, Tom is a “friend” from my mom’s high school days, so she trusted him completely. Nothing seemed off to her. Fast forward to the trip. We arrived yesterday, and were supposed to go into his shop. We got there and were shocked to see the shop was closed. My mom had messaged Tom earlier in the morning to confirm the time, but we hadn’t heard back. Trying to be understanding, we thought he might be busy prepping for the day. Standing outside the closed shop, we were puzzled. We double-checked Google, Facebook, and Apple Maps – everything showed we were in the right place and that the shop was supposed to be open. We sent another message to Tom, still giving him the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe something had come up. My mom tried calling him too, but it went straight to voicemail. She left a message, and we waited another 30 minutes, hoping he would show. Then a woman walked by and went into the shop. My mom asked if this was the right place and mentioned the certificates from Tom. The woman told us Tom used to tattoo in the front building but had closed his shop. It was now a dog grooming business, and according to her, Tom hadn’t tattooed in a couple of years. At this point, we were all upset and extremely disappointed. We had spent money driving 3.5 hours, booked a hotel for the weekend, and made all these plans, only to find out Tom had completely disappeared. We haven’t heard a word from him since. If you’re looking to book with Tom, beware. I hope this helps others avoid a similar frustrating experience.
